We're Here!

We've made it to Okinawa! We'll be staying at the hotel for prabibly another week, but we get to pick out our house and find a car this week. We're both excited to be here and ready to be settled somewhere. I'm pretty leary about driving and the intersections here completely boggle me but I'll learn. I see a lot of getting lost in my future! On our first full day here we just HAD to get taco rice, one of Carrick's Okinawan favorites from the last time he was here.

Almost There!

As many of you have heard we were delayed slightly on our way to Okinawa. It seems because of the Christmas holidays our paperwork didn't make it through as fast as we thought. Our belongings made it out as scheduled but we couldn't get on a flight until Jan 28. FYI we moved out of our house Jan 12!!! We're homeless but very thankful for great friends who let us stay at their house :)

I'm not going to lie, doing nothing all day is getting kind of old. Carrick is on leave until we get to Oki so we're just hanging out trying to keep from going crazy! We enjoyed a "snow storm" in NC (if you can call 1-2 inches a snow storm). Everything was closed, even the base! I would like to see what people here would do in Iowa! Carrick and I took the opportunity to go to the beach on our snow day. I have pictures to share, but unfortunately I packed my camera cord and can't put them on the computer.

Well next time I post I'll be in Okinawa!
